The beach & local
amenities
Manasota Key Beach is
virtually deserted most of the time. It
is famous for a wide variety of shells and if you look carefully, fossilised shark's teeth. Facilities include
changing rooms, toilets, covered barbeque area and extensive free parking.
A lifeguard ensures safe swimming within a prescribed area.

One of the most
enjoyable ways to end the day is to stroll along the beach and watch the
spectacular sunsets.
Shops, supermarkets and
restaurants are only a five minute drive away at Venice shopping village.
WalMart and Publix supermarkets are complimented by large Target and Bells department
stores and a wide range of smaller shops. There are several family
restaurants including Chillis and Outback Steakhouse.

The historic town of Venice with its range of individual shops is only a few miles
away. It also has a theatre, and the marina and fishing jetties are a
source of busy boating activities and a likely place to see dolphins.
Charming waterside restaurants such as Sharky's and Pop's are places to enjoy
the local atmosphere.
